Routine Safety Procedures

ROUTINE SAFETY PROCEDURES

DRY WEATHER ROUTINE

IN THE MORNING: At 8:30am a teacher is on duty in the shade structure area. Children should not be at school before 8:30am for safety reasons.  Parents say goodbye to their child at the school gate or designated waiting areas and allow their child to walk into the school and to the playground area. Children who arrive early are to sit in the designated area.

IN THE AFTERNOON:  Teachers will walk the children to the cola where they either line  for the buses or can be collected by parents. Children with bikes, or who walk home are met by a member of staff and escorted to the road crossing. Children can then walk home from there.

Teachers need to be informed if a child's routine is to change so that they are aware of changes and can assist the children where necessary.

WET WEATHER ROUTINE

IN THE MORNING: In wet weather children are to move to the Cola. If it becomes too wet, three(3) bells will ring and students will move to their classrooms.

IN THE AFTERNOON: Students will be walked to the shelter areas where their parents will collect them.
